    Lorex H.264 DVR's

Purchased a Lorex system last week. I cant figure out how to convert the H.264 files to AVI or some type of readable video file. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? I used the program that came with the system and it the videos still wont play. The output video just says "unreadable file".

Sounds like a question for Lorex. I do not know their viewing software. Most economy DVR's use an embedded player to play back these files. When one extracts a video clip from the DVR, the DVR will always add a copy of the player to the video clip file.

Check the DVR menu to see if it gives you an option on which format to save video clips as.

What is the file extension on the actual files that are backed up and copied to the computer?

Do you mind if I asked where you picked the DVR up from and whether you've tried speaking with them?

Not a problem at all. I do not think we prune or close many posts or threads at CCTV Forum.

I think that's a good idea not to really. Although, it is a shame that the forum isn't busier really!
